Today I choose a word not always used...

Sunday, November 18, 2012

... Sincerity; integrity.
... Reality; actuality
...honesty, reliability, or veracity

"A world where truth does not shine is a world filled with fog and cobwebs,
a gray miasma through which we run blind and lost and terrified,
tripping over roots we do not see, dodging the threat of looming shapes,
separated from our fellows in the dripping, fear-filled darkness. . .
The world of truth is the world of what is. It is here. It is now. It is what is."

- The Best of the Grapevine [Vol. 1], pp. 134-35

What more can I say to this....to tell the TRUTH...truth is a tough one for me because I'm always afraid my TRUTH will hurt. But I do my best with the truth and today I work even harder at it. If it will hurt, I will practice my first word when I started this journey...silence ;-)

hmm my problem is I blurt the truth out and sometimes do hurt. It has been an on-going battle my entire life that I still struggle to control. =(

Today I looked up Companion Robots and learned that in Japan they are making little stuffed animal "babies" to comfort Alzheimer patients and elderly shut in people who are lonely and having a really good success rate of patient improvement and slow down of symptoms. The companion robots are small, like a doll, and stuffed. They smile when cuddled and rocked, and make realistic baby cooing sounds, and when mistreated they "cry" with blue LED tears. They're pretty cool. Cost about a million dollars each though. I don't know why they're so expensive, they must do a lot more than the article mentioned..

Truth is indeed rare today, especially with the people supposedly leading our country. I would rather hear the truth even if it hurt instead of being lied to. Then you don't have to try and figure out what they really mean.

Thank you Lisa. That is a great Grapevine quote. I think the corner stone of our healthy recovery from alcohol is a true and honest self appraisal or inventory. I am enjoying your blogs.
    Have a blessed Sunday.
