The half way point!

Yesterday when I weighed, I was finally at the 18 lb loss mark, which is 1/2 way to my goal. I am so happy that I have been able to achieve this and looking back, I can't really decide if it was easy or really hard. Somewhere along the line, it did not seem to be so hard anymore. That goes for both the making different choices and portion control and the exercising part.
I worked out for an hour on my equipment in the morning and then in the afternoon I took my dog for an hour long walk. I started the walk thinking maybe I would go 1/2 the distance about 1 1/2 miles, but since it was so beautiful out and my legs were not bothering me, I decided to go the full 3 miles. It was a gorgeous day and my unruly dog loved the time spent outside.
Even though it is no longer "hard", it still takes a lot of determination and will power. We go out at least once a week and even though the burger and fries sound so good, I go for the fish or salad entree and feel better in the end for it. It is all about making choices, and choices are what led to the weight gain.
Spark people is such a great place to learn, to track, to meet new friends, even if we never meet them in person, to stay motivated, to stay positive, to share our losses and our gains- sometimes weight but most times the freedom to feel better and look better!
