Day 5 of Sweet Tooth Challenge

I did not track anything as I hadn't been for about the month before Halloween. I had been doing decently not tracking before and I still have a mental image of the things I ate yesterday.

I did go up to the store to pick up some fruit. I know the challenge says that I don't have to start substituting already this week, but like I've said somewhere before, I'm impatient and like to see results right away. Aldi's was really cheap and the fruit wasn't too bad. I've never been wowed by the produce there, but for less than $8 I got a honeydew melon, 5 honeycrisp apples, a 4-pack or pears, 4 small pomegranates, bananas, and a 3-pound bag of tangerines (not seedless!). I suppose cheap produce is better than no produce.

I was able to have a lot of fruit instead of longing for candy all day. Unfortunately at the end of the night, after a pomegranate and some popcorn, I gave into some more melted white chocolate chips. I'm thinking it was because I was tired and bored, we were watching Spiderman (yes my choice of movie). I gave into the chocolate in the last 20 minutes of the movie. I wasn't hungry, but I did it anyhow.

I managed a nap yesterday, so tiredness wasn't too bad at the end of that movie. I guess Spiderman isn't as exciting as Superman.

My husband did manage to clean out the area I asked him so it doesn't look grubby under the sink anymore. I'm not sure how my son misses the garbage so much?

We finally found out the details of his brother and it looks like he won't be able to visit anyhow, his job is south of the cities while we live north, so it's about a 2 hour drive and everyone works the day he wanted to visit. Guess they'll just have to wait until the days we know he'll be visiting with his mom, next month. That still gives me time to do a detailed clean of the house.

Today I'll be going up to the store with my daughter so she can pick up a present for a friend, she has another birthday party to attend. I guess next year we'll have to plan for a birthday party, as many as she's been invited to. If they can manage their parties around the holidays, we should be able to also.

When we get home, the house will be decorated. I put up the tree already and have pulled out the rest of the stuff to put up. Time to start getting ready for Santa!

We'll also be dipping pretzels. If I manage to use up the chocolate, it should be easier not having just melted chocolate. Granted, that means chocolate and pretzels, but I'm not feeling as bad about the sugar in my body as I had been earlier this week.

    How funny that you mentioned chocolate dipped pretzels. That's one of my favorite treats and this morning I was thinking about how I could make them healthier than the ones I buy. :)

    Congratulations on getting to a place where you are not having to track after every morsel! I am so not there yet, but it's a goal. Good job on the produce! We are going to the farmer's market this morning and I am eager to see if they still have the honey crisps.
Have fun getting ready for the holidays. I need to still catch up on some mental down time before I am ready to attack the house and do some cleaning and de-cluttering.

    Honeycrisp apples are my absolute favorite. I've been going through so many of them this fall!
