Be a Secret Santa

Sunday, November 18, 2012

The greatest pleasure I know is to do a good action by stealth, and to have it found out by accident." Charles Lamb

I can not wait for Christmas this year. It is my favorite holiday not for the gifts but for the gift giving. This year I am going to play secret Santa as many chances as I can get.

Playing Secret Santa got easier with Facebook. Just this week one of my single co-workers posted this about her son. He wanted to draw and couldn't find anything to draw with so she heard him say "Dear Santa please send me something to write with this year I love you very much Thank you. So Melissa is going to find a either a box of crayons or colored pencils in her office with her son's name and from Santa thank you for believing in me I believe in you written on it. I think she will be thrilled and I more so.

Every year at out church we have the giving tree you take a paper bulbs off and it has a gift idea under 10 dollars for a charity in the area. One year me and my daughter made the hats and scarves that the children asked for we always hope we can see someone wearing them one day that would be an added bonus, It makes you feel good that another family can have a little spirit of Christmas.

Our grocery store always has prefilled grocery bags that are worth five or ten dollars they contain gifts for the food self in our area it is nice to know some family will have a warm meal on my extra change.

This Christmas I hope you embrace the spirit of giving as I have it makes you feel richer and happier and safe. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

What fun. I too love to shop for those less fortunate whose names are on the Christmas giving trees. So glad that there are so many people that enjoy this part of Christmas too!

I love those pre-packed bags at the stores. Put it your cart and pay for it. My daughter & I help out our local Animal Control center and the Homeless Shelter throughout the year. It's always amazing at how much stuff is given between October - Jan. and then it drops off substantially.

Have a SUPER GREAT day!

I love giving to others in need, many times the blessing comes back full circle. This year at church we have adopted for the Christmas season one of the NC Baptist Children's homes. We learned from a teenager in our church that was doing some school projects onsite there that the home was in need of some new bed linens. It's so fun buying new things for others, especially when you know how much it will be appreciated. These children have visited our church in the past & they are always a blessing to us, it's a small way we can give back to them.
