Today DH and I decided to offer DD1 the opportunity to celebrate her birthday early by taking her to MOA (Mall of America) today instead of trying to squeeze it in closer to her birthday since there is no better day for it. She happily agreed and asked that it just be the 2 of us (mom and daughter) instead of bringing her sis along.
We had such a perfect day and I am EXHAUSTED. I let her pretty much run the day. I had a coupon for a free ride wristband for Nickelodeon Universe, the theme park inside the mall, so we did rides on and off throughout the day. She chose to eat supper at the American Girl Bistro which we'd never been to before. We walked around quite a bit and got some shopping done both for her and for others. All the while she did not utter a negative word and was nothing but thankful and wonderful. I could not have asked for a better day with her and she repeatedly told me it was the best day of her life and she was so thankful for our time together. That is music to a mother's ears from an almost 9-year-old considering she was reminded throughout the day that this was her birthday "party" and no other gifts or parties would be given this year.
God is so good to fill my heart with such a beautiful time and wonderful memories. I will cherish this day for a long time!
