Started the day by getting up early to write. Got some more work done on the novel but not really happy with it.
Joined Dan at Boyz Club for a cup of tea. It was green which I took by mistake. My stomach didn't like it much. Grabbed an apple and a banana to split with Dan as we drove into Yosemite Valley. The food helped my stomach feel better.
Met Kevin in the Park! Yay! It was great to see him again. Yak, yak, yak. Great time together. He said we could come his way any time and sleep at his place (bring a sleeping bag).
As we drove down the hill toward the valley, the sky became a little brighter. The colors in Big Meadow were absolutely stunning. Wet red, yellow, green with a touch of black (the burned trees) and the gray of the granite under the brightness made me sorry I'd left my camera at home. (I keep forgetting it - gotta put out a reminder or start wearing the camera).
We got back in time for me to get to the Writing to Get Published class. I do enjoy these sessions and will miss them now that they are over. I got to read what I'd re-done for the opening of my story. Positive feedback so I think I finally got the 'hook' and the dialog right - for the first chapter anyway. I do want feedback on what I wrote this morning as it doesn't feel right to me as it is.
Barely got home when it was time to go again. We dressed up a bit and went over to the Gregory's for mocktails, cocktails and appetizers. We knew most of the other people which was nice. I'm still not sure which wife belongs with which husband for some of them. Got to speak with one woman and learn more about her. Sounds like she had an interesting career and loves flying. Also visited with some people I know a bit better. Overall, it was a nice evening. Sometimes I feel so out of place at these events. I did feel at bit out of place part of the time but for the most part, it was ok.
Tomorrow's going to be rather dull after all of today's activities.
