11/17/12 - part 2

Saturday, November 17, 2012

I had a great day today. I had some extra food that I have to put in my tracker, but it was all on my plan. Having some cheese for a snack right now. I drank a lot of water today ( about 16-17 glasses ). Usually I drink just 10-12, and 15 on basketball days. I walked for almost 2 hours today.. over 6 miles. I also went to the library, and got the Hobbit. My brother was surprised that i had never read it, and said I should read the Simarillion first. They have 0 copies of that book though.

Tomorrow, I plan on relaxing, and watching the Lions get beat by the Packers. Due to Thanksgiving, we play twice, and will face Houston, which may be the best team in the league. So we should lose twice this week, and be 4-7.Sadly this is one of the best seasons in my lifetime of being a Lions fan. One playoff win in my entire life. The year I graduated.. 1992. Since then a lot of 3-13 teams, and one 0-16 season. I can dream that we beat the Packers, and are At least they aren't the 1-9 Pistons. Spring training is only 5 months away. I know that Detroit is HockeyTown USA, but I hate hockey. I would rather watch soccer, or golf than hockey. So, I have baseball, and mediocre football.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. I guess I am gonna see if SNL has anything funny on it. If not, I'll read till I pass out.

The Hobbit is a fine read alone, the LOTR trilogy is worth reading together, I read them back to back before the first film came out.

Agree with NAY, I'd save Silmarilion for last. It's much more difficult going than the other 4 books. Worth it, but difficult.

The Hobbit stands alone well. The Silmarillion gives history, but isn't necessary to enjoy the story.
