The week's blog challenge for our Aspire to Inspire BSG challenge is to write about our happiest Thanksgiving memories. This is a challenge for me as I am not sure my memories are that happy. Growing up I don't even remember Thanksgiving.
When I married my first husband in 1970, his family had a huge Thanksgiving get together. I don't even know how many people attended, but it was his brother, sister-in-law and their 5 kids, his dad's brother and sister and their kids, his mom's sister and her husband at the minimum. Then, as the kids grew up it included their spouses and kids. It grew to be well over 20. I was always rather shy, but I guess those were happy memories because I thought it was great to have such a huge family all getting together.
My first grandchild, a granddaughter, was born the week of Thanksgiving in 1993 on November 23rd. My husband and two sons were going down to spend Thanksgiving with my daughter and the new baby. So, of course, that was a very happy Thanksgiving and probably the one I would consider my happiest Thanksgiving memory.
