It is very important to set goals for yourself along this weight loss journey. Without them; how can we hold ourselves accountable? How will we ever reach our targets? A few months back I decided I wanted to run again; then I figured Iím just too overweight to get started and my knees are in bad shape, it will probably NEVER happen. So I've been pondering this thought in my mind again over the past few weeks and said to myself; maybe itís not that impossible. I begin to remember my younger athletic days and the 12 years I spent in the Army; I've always been a runner; well during those times. My mind remembers what it feels like to run; how energetic and refreshing it can be. So my journey begins.
I've download several apps on my smartphone; C25K; gotta start somewhere; so why not today; why not? So this is what happened. I started Week 1 Day 1 today. My goal was to start and finish todayís program; and I did. I walked when I was supposed to walk and I ran when I was supposed to run. True, there were a few intervals when I didn't think I would complete the entire 60 minute run; but I did! Iím so proud of myself; goal accomplished to start; goal accomplished to finish Week 1 Day 1. According to the program I suppose to repeat 3 times per week before moving on; wish me luck; I can do this. I will keep you posted as I progress.
