My mother-in-law!!

Saturday, November 17, 2012

This is probably NOT going to be the blog you expect. I do not have one negative thing to say about her, except that she lives too far away!

She is an amazing, loving, supportive woman that I dearly love. (Her son is pretty emoticon too emoticon ) Not only did she get my Y membership for my knee rehab, two weeks ago she called and said my Christmas present was on the way. Also, she had cleaned closets and would I be offended if she sent me some clothes from her and my husband's stepmom (yes, he had 2 moms. I loved both of them. Cookie passed away 6 years ago). Offended? I was THRILLED! I still have a tie-dyed shirt they gave me that is beyond ratty, but I still wear it-because they gave it to me. Now the poor thing can be retired as a rag.

The boxes came several days apart. First was my Christmas box. T-Fal Signature cookware. A whole set. I just about died! I've NEVER had brand new, NICE cookware before. EVER. My husband has offered to buy me mid-price range ones, but even that would have strained our budget, so I always made do with hand-me-downs from my mom or stuff we could easily afford. This was incredible! They are navy blue, and beautiful! She had said I could open it right away. I called her immediately, of course. She said she knew it was something I could use for Thanksgiving dinner, and that I was trying to cook healthier, so she thought good nonstick would help. She hoped I liked it. Liked it? I LOVE IT! I couldn't believe she spent that kind of money on me for pots and pans right after she got my Y membership!

The first of the next week, the other boxes came. Again separated by our lovely postal service. One was full of tops, the other bottoms! Mostly pajama and lounging around the house bottoms, but who cares? They are smaller than I wore the last time she saw me, so she warned me they probably wouldn't fit for a while. That was ok. I wore one of the tops out yesterday to the Dr and to go get groceries and meds. And today I'm wearing a pair of the lounge pants (out in public, you can tell I don't feel well) and they are a 28, and NOT stretch pants! They are an older pair, not particularly generously sized, either! And they fit! emoticon

The evil scale at the Dr may have said 292.8, which is 2.8 heavier than my scale at home said, but then again the Dr scale adds clothes and shoes. My new clothes from mother-in-law say I am getting smaller!

It's no wonder my husband is so amazing. His mom is emoticon

It's me again ..I just visited your spark page and read about your lack of support in the
weight loss journey, they mean well ...but perhaps if you could explain to them how
excess weight can shorten your life expectancy and have some facts to back it up.. that may help ....because I am sure they do love you as you are and are showing you their strong support . Good Luck.

It is lovely to hear MIL's talked about so lovingly they have been the butt of so many nasty jokes in the past. I did not know my MIL very well since we lived 3,000 miles
apart but she was very good to our family while she was alive
Cherish her !!!
