my first blog - new to spark

hello,

new to spark people, just signed up this morning. I am hoping this website will help me lose the pounds I need off. I am obese with health related issues. I remember back when I was little when I was growing up learning something new my mother always said small changes or baby steps will get you success. I am hoping that stands true with weight loss because that is the theory I am using. Small changes and baby steps, and I know the holidays are right around the corner but if I stick to my word I CAN DO IT ! I am starting off with exercising 10 minutes a day drinking 8 - 8 ounce glasses of water daily and tracking what I eat daily. (fast break goals) and keeping up with the motivation and positive attitude.

    Welcoome to our site. There is so much info here and such warm, supportive friends, I'm sure you will machieve your goals. Baby steps is good. Try to remember two things: One is if you mess up you can get right back to the good choices as it has happened to most of us at one time or another. The second is: you didn't put the weight on overnight and you'll lose it the same way. 1-2 pounds a week is the safest way to do it. It took me over two years, but I went from 255 to 117. Now my doctor wants me to 125 and I'm at 121. It is very possible! Enjoy your journey!!

    emoticon You can do it! You've got the right approach. I'm here to lose the 40 pounds I keep playing around with, but I used to weigh 300 pounds. I've kept 110 of those 150 pounds I lost off. We can do whatever we set our minds to do.

    I agree baby steps can work really well. That is how I approached weight loss. My first step was simply Eat Less. And then I built on from there. Welcome and good luck! SP is a great place!
