Hunger pangs may be stomach ulcer from pain meds.

Friday, November 16, 2012

I knew I had stomach problems from all the drugs I'd been taking for pain. I found myself eating all the time trying to quash the knawing feeling in my stomach. I researched on the web and found that yogurt and cabbage juice were recommended for stomach ulcers. Just knowing that it's not hunger but a actual problem that can be fixed is making it easier to stay on track with my diet.

I had an ulcer for a while. I found a bit of ice cold milk before I ate helped coat and sooth my tummy. Don't assume it's all meds - be sure you are managing stress effectively, too.

Glad you're able to stay on your plan. But I agree that it would be best to check with your doctor.

I've heard yogurt and cabbage are good and soothing to your tummy. I have a nervous stomach and also arthritis and I take too many aspirin and Tums. Ask your Dr. what's best to do next time you see him/her. Take good care.

Might not hurt to see a doctor too.
Good job changing your foods.
