New Floor!! With before and after pics!

Friday, November 16, 2012

My DH and I moved into this house during the summer between our DD's kindergarten and 1st grade years in school. She is now a Junior (or 11th grade). It's late, so you get to do the math! The house was about two years old when we moved in. And we moved in very well. Besides DD, we also have DS and two dogs. All together, we've been very hard on our kitchen floor.

Poor floor...notice the holes in the linoleum? That's what happens when you don't have wheels on the desk chair.

And the brown spot? No, not a fire. Apparently, bug spray, sunshine and linoleum do not mix well...unless you like brown spots on your floor.

Now, that area looks like this:

We weren't as hard on the space for the fridge, but I think that black mark is a permanent stain.

Can't see the stain now!

The area in front of the stove is just plain dirty, faded, and worn.

Not any more!!!

A general shot of new amd improved.

Thanks for letting me share. Now maybe I'll move on to a new obsession. emoticon

Lovely pics! Now that you mention it - my windows are not finished yet and I HAVE another obsession already: I want the kitchen and the bath remodeled! (for the starters) DH thinks I'm crazy, but my visions do not let him untouched. I don't even want to post the before pictures of these...

Your new floor is gorgeous! Miss my wide pine floor in my old livingroom. I hate carpeting - especially when it's old and worn down.

Very nice! It must feel as good as it looks. I finally got my floor redone too...just in time to move out of the house. Sigh.

I had the same situation at my last place. The wood is so much nicer and easier to take care of!

Wooow, what a difference a new floor makes, eh? It is beautiful! The wood look just ties everything together and it is so much easier to clean. It also gives it a warmer feel. You guys did a great job! A little tip, though...if you wanna have fun, and I learned this when I was about seven years old...if you spray furniture polish on the bottom of your socks and take off running, you can slide really fast on hardwood floors!!

That was insightful to take the 'before' shots. Your new floor looks fantastic! When our son went off to college, we remodel our kitchen as well. Enjoy!

Do you hire out? I'd gladly pay the plane fair and any necessary expenses. I am not allowed to use anything thats sharp, is powered by battery or electricity or had a cord attatched to it. Come to think of it I am not allowed to do a whole lot!!!

The floor is really nice and just in time for Thanksgiving.

Really nice Barb. Thank you for sharing with us. I always enjoy your blogs
