I didn't make the pie after all

Friday, November 16, 2012

When I got home it was so late that by the time I ate some supper, I was practically asleep. I bought some cake pops from Starbuck's on the way in to work since I had promised a dessert. I wasn't eligible for the contest since I bought mine, but I noticed that someone had swiped one before we even had lunch! For those who asked, here's the link to the pie recipe. I'll probably make it for work Tuesday (since I have the rest of next week off):

We probably don't need to tell anyone that it's almost vegan and borderline (gasp!) healthy.

The bosses cooked a big, beautiful Thanksgiving meal for us. Then my manager said that when we finished eating we could leave. I'm not the only one who left a jet trail out the door!

Meantime, I ordered the yarn for the afghan. I know I could have gone to the craft store, but they frequently don't have the full amounts of the colors I need and they cost more than the online store (with whom I've done business for years). I even spent the extra $9 for "expedited rush" shipping. I figure between the tax at the craft store, the difference in basic price and the shipping, it works out the same anyway. I expect to have it in time for my five-day holiday weekend! And let's be honest -- I've got to love any pattern where the edging instructions begin, "The exact number of stitches doesn't matter." My kind of pattern!

It's a rainy Friday afternoon here, and I'm glad the commute is behind me and I can chill out and enjoy a little "Judge TV." Good Eats Thanksgiving is on in a little bit, so I can spend a little time with Alton as well.

I'm actually relaxed for the first time in weeks.

What is the website you use to order your yarn. Are you willing to share that pattern?

Thanks for the recipe and know sometimes it is just best to buy instead of make..and know also about buying things like yarn to make sure you get enough..

So report back when you do make the pie. I agree. Don't tell anyone it's healthy and almost vegan. Just serve it and let people tell you what they think.

I'm so glad you are relaxed! You deserve it. I'm glad you scaled back and didn't worry about the pie, and I will await future updates from you, or others, about the wonderfulness of it. ;-)

What kind of pie was it? My favorite is pumpkin pie.
