When I got home it was so late that by the time I ate some supper, I was practically asleep. I bought some cake pops from Starbuck's on the way in to work since I had promised a dessert. I wasn't eligible for the contest since I bought mine, but I noticed that someone had swiped one before we even had lunch! For those who asked, here's the link to the pie recipe. I'll probably make it for work Tuesday (since I have the rest of next week off):
We probably don't need to tell anyone that it's almost vegan and borderline (gasp!) healthy.
The bosses cooked a big, beautiful Thanksgiving meal for us. Then my manager said that when we finished eating we could leave. I'm not the only one who left a jet trail out the door!
Meantime, I ordered the yarn for the afghan. I know I could have gone to the craft store, but they frequently don't have the full amounts of the colors I need and they cost more than the online store (with whom I've done business for years). I even spent the extra $9 for "expedited rush" shipping. I figure between the tax at the craft store, the difference in basic price and the shipping, it works out the same anyway. I expect to have it in time for my five-day holiday weekend! And let's be honest -- I've got to love any pattern where the edging instructions begin, "The exact number of stitches doesn't matter." My kind of pattern!
It's a rainy Friday afternoon here, and I'm glad the commute is behind me and I can chill out and enjoy a little "Judge TV." Good Eats Thanksgiving is on in a little bit, so I can spend a little time with Alton as well.
I'm actually relaxed for the first time in weeks.
