Walking... not running

My running buddy hurt her back, so for the next week or so we will be doing gentle walks, not running intervals. That is fine. It would be nice to get out and run while it is sunny, but hopefully it will be sunny next week too. I walked past the gym today with the dog, and all I felt was relief that I wasn't forcing myself to go. I am still losing weight, without the extreme workouts I was doing. I don't think I will build muscle as fast, but I am looking into possibly getting some heavier weights on Monday, so that should help.
I decided to bake muffins today. I mixed up a batch of nutty bran muffins. I didn't add as much sugar as the recipe called for and only put in one egg (but extra egg white, so there would be enough liquid). I have difficulty following a recipe exactly the way it is written... I always want to change something or add something. Generally my kitchen experiments turn out pretty good, but the potential for a cooking disaster is almost always looming. It makes cooking more of an adventure. I get that habit from my mom by the way.
Tomorrow Cooper and I are walking out to my parents' farm to make lunch, then getting together with my brother to get the kayaks put away for the winter. At least that was the plan last I checked. Everything is always flexible when I make plans with my family.
