mini goal

hi friends,hope you are enjoying your day!!!no lunch yet,been shopping and got winter cloths,let me tell you it's exciting to just grab cloths and not have to worry about them not fitting :). Does anyone set mini goals.I am setting a mini goal of trying to lose 40 pounds by june 1st of 2013,im gonna work really hard to get there and im also gonna start doing daily yoga included with writing a food journal and gratitude list,i can please use all the support i can get,thanks

    I think mini goals are great. I pat myself on the back for every little thing. It's so important to feel like you are accomplishing something. Make sure to reward yourself! For a while I was buying myself roses every week I stayed with my program. Seeing them on the table was a motivation to stay on track, because it's a reminder that I'm doing well but also I want that next bouquet. Your "mini" goal of 40 lbs doesn't seem so mini to me. It might be good to break that up. For example, how much will you need to have lost in 2 mos to keep on track with that?

    emoticon I actually just blogged about starting a food journal myself. I have 70lbs. to go totoal but I keep plateauing so I decided to start a journal so I can see what I'm doing right and wrong. I think it's a great idea and I think you'll shed those pounds in no time! And I can't wait to be able to buy clothes withot having to try them on--def a mini goal for me!

    I need to feel successful to keep motivated. I joined in with several friends with the mini goals of losing 5% of our body weight each season (3 months) until we meet our final goal. I set my ticker to those 5% marks, and celebrate each mini goal met. It works well for me. I'm less discouraged and have a sense of accomplishment, rather than being discouraged by how long to takes to reach the ideal weight.

    great goal and doable .. that is for sure I think setting small goals is more obtainable then setting a huge one.. yes a huge one is good but small ones get you there

    Mini goals are a great way to break bigger goals down into much more doable steps. I make a lot of them, such as my monthly goals, but most of them are not weight-specific.
