Happy Friday everyone! I am feeling a bit relieved compared to the other day. I did talk to my ex. Although things are definitely not 100% solved, I did tell him how I feel. He realizes I can't keep getting sucked into his sadness. I feel bad, but I can't keep letting him pull me in to the negativity! He did give me the Zumba dvds I have been asking him for though. I didn't get a chance to check them out to make sure they work- but hopefully they do!
WOW!!! It is almost Thanksgiving! I will be going to my Aunt's house for dinner next week. I am going to bring my own plate with chicken sausage, a plain sweet potato, and plain string beans. My Aunt will only be having candied sweet potatoes & green bean casserole. I will feel silly bringing my own food - but I don't eat turkey & I don't want to upset my stomach by making myself eat the veggies I don't normally eat. I am not worried about going over calories that day - I just don't want to have a stomach episode with my family there!! I won't be having any dessert except for the Pumpkin Spice Muffins I am baking & bringing - and maybe Jello if they have it.
The Fall 5% Challenge ends December 1st! I can't believe half of November is over already! 86.2 pounds gone so far! This challenge has definitely pushed me! Once it is over, I am going to make another goal to get to my 155 healthy weight. I still can't believe I have not had french fries for 8 weeks already!! I started not having them when I first made my challenge goals. I haven't cheated at all & I am so glad. Two more weeks until the challenge is over. I hope I don't start going back to eating them all the time. I HOPE I just have one or two of someone elses.. but I don't want to order them myself anymore.
I didn't end up signing up for a Turkey Trot because of how much training I missed while being sick. If I do want to do a 5K for Thanksgiving, I will do one on my own at the park!
Goals to be met by December 1st:
-Stay within calories ranges
-Lose another 1.5 pounds to reach my 5% weight loss goal
-Do Zumba 4 times (either in class or dvd)
-Re-start 5K training - my next 5K is 12/8!
-Walk on the treadmill Twice (hopefully making myself do it will make me do it more often)
-Add more veggies to my meals so I don't struggle at the end of the day to meet calories
-Try 2 new Spark Recipes
-Stay Positive & Don't give into the Negativity!
-Open my own Savings Account
-Get most of my Christmas Shopping done
Hopefully everyone has a Spark-tacular weekend. Keep Sparking & don't give up even if you go over calories or don't get a chance to work out!
Those sound like some awesome goals! And there's nothing wrong with bringing your own plate to Thanksgiving! That's actually a pretty awesome idea! If I ever have to go to a holiday dinner this season, that's probably what I will end up doing considering my family are been fans of frying their turkey and loading the sides with butter and whatnot.
And a wise decision not to push yourself into a Turkey Trot when you're not prepared. Sometimes the healthiest choice isn't always the one you would expect. Keep up the amazing work! Woohoo, almost ninety pounds lost! That's amazing! 1947 days ago
We always bring food on thanksgiving and it just happens that it is healthy. It has become normal so no one asks or says a thing. Just stick with it as it is part of the new you! Looks like you have great goal set . 1947 days ago
I like that you are so confident about yourself. This is the way to go. I see how you did lost 86.2 pounds. And so proud of your determination and willing to take extra step to not to do over eat or protect your stomach to not get into trouble. Since you've started your weight loss journey, I know it was not easy. I know that more you tray, it get easier for eating healthy to getting exercise. But still there are so much temptation to get off the track. For me everyday is a challenge still. So again, i am so proud of your determination and your achievement !! You need to be proud of yourself and pat on your shoulder yourself, Congratulations !! I am right behind you.(smile))
Great plan and goals! I think you should reconsider your decision to not do a Turkey Trot though. You can do it as a training run, and walk/run it if necessary, and I think you'll find the energy of the race very motivating. Just my two cents though.
You're such a great, positive, active SparkFriend! Sounds like you have everything worked out and you're doing so wonderfully I don't really have anything to add except stay strong, don't worry about bringing your own food, I've already found with my no alcohol challenge that people are reacting much more positively than I anticipated, and KEEP. IT. GOING!!!

Nice post! I don't think anyone will mind you bringing food - at least in my family these holidays are fairly pot-luck. Also, I'm sure they've seen the progress you've made and will completely understand.

You doing awesome ! Glad you are feeling better. Nice that you stood your ground with your ex. Your feelings are validated. No problem bringing your plate - plenty of people in my family with special need diets do the same thing , no one is offended. I have no doubt you will reach your goals ! Good job on the fries!
