Quick update: Road Trip to Tulsa

Friday, November 16, 2012

The half marathon is Sunday but we are leaving a day early to continue the quest for hiking shoes. I have two pair to go back to two different stores but at least now I know what I am looking for. So progress is being made, slowly.

TC took back a pair last week and found a pair, so he is all set. Yay!

If I can't find what I'm looking for in a store I'll have to order them online. But that takes time, and since I've never tried on what I want they aren't guaranteed to I'm hoping I can find them in a store. We'll spend the night in Fort Smith tonight and head to Tulsa tomorrow.

I'm not nervous about the half marathon; we've done six of them and actually I think we may be able to beat our best time since we are now doing more jogging than we've ever done. We'll see! Either way, it's not important to me. My goal is always just to finish. My goal is to have a REASON to have to do all the walking we do, and the races are just incidental to that.

Have a great weekend, fellow Sparklers! emoticon

I hope you can find good shoes. I don't know that I would get new ones right before the event.

Enjoy the half marathon.

I'd think trail runners would be fine and more comfortable for a half marathon.
Finding the right boots for those rugged hikes seems to be a never-ending quest. I'll hike my new ones for the first time tomorrow, we'll see how that goes.
Have fun on your run!
