Daily Visualization

Imagine yourself inside on the couch. Now picture yourself running outside. What do you notice about the contrast between the two scenes? Which scene is more vibrant and full of life? Remember this if you're tempted to skip your workout today.

I can picture this with ease. Where I lived before I had comfy couch with a good view of the TV. It was easy to snuggle on the sofa and stay warm with the laptop. Outside it could be cold but if I dressed right and got out there, within a couple of minutes I would be warm and my dog, Kali would be pulling on the leash wanting to be free and run for an hour or two.

I would come home feeling I had accomplished something and shown my dog love. Seeing her happy and running ahead always made me happy. I was thinking about this today when I shopped for a winter coat to feel warm when I am out walking and thinking about how I got out walking in winter before I moved here. It was reinforced when I came home and read today's Visualization.

Today in Spark Coach I read ‘study found that people who reported increased stress gained more weight if they already had higher body mass indexes. In other words, if you're overweight already, you're even more likely to gain weight when under stress.’ Yes I would agree with that. It’s a dysfunctional way I have learned to deal with stress.

Spark Coach also stated –

Make a list of three activities that make you feel better and more like yourself, and schedule 5-10 minutes each day to do that activity. Here are some ideas I chose:

• Yoga
• Taking a nap
•• Taking a bath
•• Affection with a loved one or pet

Doing this will not only make you a happier, more balanced person; it will also help you to eat healthy and keep your energy levels high for those workouts. Follow these great tips for a much calmer journey to weight loss!

Today we got our sofa and loveseat for the living room. It’s the first time we have sat in our living room in 16 months. Soon we will get window coverings and other things to make it feel homey.

I had a medical appointment today and am scheduled for a medical procedure for Nov. 26th. I am glad I found a specialist that I trust!

That visualization was powerful for me too. What I thought I wanted to do was go back to bed but I got out and took a long walk with my two dogs. Walking was better for my stress than the nap.

I hope whatever procedure you have done is quick, easy, and completely successful. Remember that even with the smallest operation you'll need a while to recover. Be patient and heal quickly. I'll be thinking of you.

I could have been a subject in that study. I gained back almost all the weight I lost and I place the blame squarely on stress. Unfortunately mines at work and lives and breathes in the same office. I try to use exercise to boost the endorphins and counteract the cortisol production but it's an up hill battle. Thanks for the reminder that it never hurts to do things that make you feel good.

I love thinking about you and Kali out walking. I remember loving that picture of you. It seemed like you both were where you should be and you will be again.

I don't like the cold, but I go out and walk anyways. I always feel better when I do. My dog doesn't mind when it is a little chilly, he likes it better than too hot, but he doesn't like weet and chilly. We walked about 5 miles together this morning, and he probably would have kept going, but my fingers were cold, so I made him come home.

So true. So many people have never figured out or been taught that good feelings don't just happen by chance--you have to make a definite choice to get out there and create them by accomplishment, kindness, and gratitude. Never let a day go by without doing something to make the world a better place to live for somebody, maybe even yourself!
