I took the day off and I feel fine about it!

Thursday, November 15, 2012

It's a matter of priorities, really. Most days I get to go for a walk and then have time in the morning to do what I need to do. Then when the kids are home, half the time they're ignoring me anyway (unless they want food) so I can do some squats or lunges or whatever.

Today, though, my "baby" boy had his wisdom cut out and his tongue fixed. He was pretty miserable all day emoticon We watched some shows we had backed up on the DVR but he spent a lot of time dozing off. He wanted me to sit with him, though. In the dark, quiet room. Without watching tv! So that's what I did.

So I got virtually no movement in today. No walk, no workout, only about 1500 steps all day. Several spark streaks are broken now. But he's 16, 17 in less than a month. And today I had my baby back for just a little while. I hope he's never that miserable again but, if he is, Mommy's going to be there!

And now when the swelling goes down, he'll finally be able to do emoticon ! I think tomorrow when he doesn't look like emoticon anymore, he's going to sit in his room and practice in front of his mirror emoticon

Good job! You put first what was most important - your son. As much as it would have been great to get out, he needed you and you were there for him. That's wonderful!

Tomorrow is another day with which to try again. If you can get away for a little bit, go for it. If not, then enjoy this time when your son needs you.
