Fancy Dinner Out

Just back from a lovely dinner out with my sister and thirty something nephew. Excellent food and drinks, exquisite company...just a really nice night out.
I came home and logged all my lovely treats, including a martini before dinner, and white wine with. Butternut squash bisque, grilled half a chicken with fancified root vegetables and about 3/4 of a black lava cake for dessert. My calculations come to 1,075 calories for the meal. Fortunately, I was very careful earlier in the day and still did not go over my calorie count. I am at the high end of my day, but am really okay with that.
I have to say, it was really, really nice to eat out all dressed up. I fully enjoyed my meal, but was still aware of my choices. I stayed away from the bread basket, refused the second, and third, glass of wine, left some dessert on my plate. I drank all of my water. I was pleasantly full, but not grossly stuffed.
Can I eat like this every night? Nope. Will I eat on the low side of my limits tmw? Yep. But for tonight, I am happy to know I can go out and enjoy good company, good food and drink, and still be true to my health program.
