Day...whatever - Im back again

Wow

October 2012 was one HECKUVA month! I'm not going to go into details, but lets just say that I am REALLY happy to be into November.

Where am I? Not where I want to be. Between work, trips, kids, sickness, and everything else going on...Im just happy to still be standing.

Anyway, here we go again.

Yes, I am up a few lbs from last month. I of course feel bad about that, but I have no one to blame but myself. My only choice is to forget about it and KEEP MOVING FORWARD. There is nothing I can do about my bad choices from the past. There is something I can do about the bad choices that I want to make today.

AND I SO WANT TO MAKE BAD CHOICES!!!

The leftover candy in my pantry, the apple pie in the fridge, the cookie dough in the freezer, the Beer in the garage.... Yup. I want it all.

Ain't goin there. Not gonna happen.

230 in the afternoon and I have made good choices so far. Lets keep it up!

(Sorry for the stream of consciousness, but I am a little loopy from one of my good choices...the 5K at lunch ;-)

    A little something from Dr. Phil that I have found helpful.

"If you have been cheating yourself in life, it's quite possible that you're in pain. Believe it or not, that may now actually be a good thing, something that you can use to your benefit. Pain, if acknowledged, can be a powerful motivator. Whatever pain is present in your life right now may serve as the fuel in your quest for change. If your life is really awful, but you are in denial and totally numb to it, just mindlessly going through the motions, then you haven't got much incentive to change. On the other hand, if you're really hurting, then acknowledging that pain can force you out of the numbing doldrums. Don't deny, or mask, or mislabel the pain. Use the pain to reach for something different. Don't rationalize and decide that you deserve it, or that it is not that bad. Admit it to “center-stage" consciousness, and it can move you."

Continue to love yourself by taking care of the one body that's got to get you through a lot more years!

    Hey there man!
So here is the thing - bad stuff is ALWYAS gonna be around. It's not that you aren't EVER going to have it again...it is just NOT RIGHT NOW!

Maybe if you look at it that way, and take control over the bad stuff instead of it having control over you...well, maybe it will get you over the hump.

Good news is (and I sincerely mean it) those bad things that are calling out to you get quieter and quieter...until guess what? they can be there and not calling to you at all...and then it's YOUR CONSCIOUS choice to partake instead of the evil subconscious ruling the roost.

Yup, I broke out my pychobabble a bit, but that's just the way it is.

Even with slip ups (and they will happen even when things are really really back on track) - it takes time to wean off the bad...but when you do it's really really good! because it does get easier.

OK - Mini-pep-talk over and done with...you can do it...I have faith in ya! My hubby says football season is the worst...he was where you are and he STILL says it now that he lost his weight...so see, it can (and WILL - be positive!) be done!!

Now off you go...take the candy and chuck it into the garbage...it will feel so good when you do!
