Hiatus & Find A Plan!

I seem to have taken a hiatus from the last blog post to now. I got stuck in a rut, got off balance, and now need to figure out where to go from here. Here is five pounds up from my goal and that doesn't make me happy. I love my vegetables, but eating a total vegan diet also doesn't make me happy. And, finally, hating exercise and not finding anything I want to do does't make me happy.

So I am back to square one. Find a plan.

    I can relate. I tried a vegetarian diet in high school but it was not for me. You at least learned something from this experiment. You never know until you give something a try. Now you can move on. I am the same way about exercise. If I don't enjoy it I won't do it. I hope you find what you are looking for soon. I found that lower carb diets like South Beach and Primal work for me. And walking, swimming, yoga, qigong, and dancing.

    In the meantime, while you are working out your plan...Are you exercising? Because whether you like to or not, exercise will help you to lose those 5 lbs and gain the strength you are seeking. So I would keep exercising or get exercising, do something that doesn't exacerbate your injuries, while you look around for something that you find more enjoyable. When I started exercising I was very physically limited, I have quite a lot of injury issues and it is pretty tedious having to modify or not being able to do something, but that's just the way that it is and I have to get on with it. After doing exercise that I don't particularly enjoy, I got fitter and that made it possible for me to try Zumba without completely shaming myself and guess what, I LOVE Zumba. But it took a lot of determination to get to being able to consider Zumba.
If I can do it, you can do it.

    It might be a good thing to consider why you chose a vegan dietary plan if you're not happy with it. If your reasons didn't have to do with a philosophical belief that it is wrong to eat animal products or by-products, then it may not be the right way for you.

If your reasons DO have to do with that, then it can prove a good reminder of why you're choosing that lifestyle - and you can look for what you're not happy with. Perhaps you need more recipes, more options that are vegan and delicious in their own right rather than attempts to just replace something you'd eat if you weren't vegan.
