Small steps lead to big ones!

My small steps yesterday have lead to bigger ones today! I tracked all of my food yesterday and today. I got my wellness results back from work and was so excited! My numbers improved so much in just two weeks!! Two weeks! It is incredible! (granted when I had my first test, I wasn't fasting and this time I was). Two weeks ago my blood glucose was 145. Now it is 86. Two weeks ago my cholestrol was 298. Now it is 200. All of my numbers were improved. In just two weeks!!! I cannot believe how much better I feel now that I am not drinking diet Mt. Dew. (I had been drinking around 9 per day). Yes, I am having headaches, and I crave it at times, but I feel so much better drinking water!! The biggest difference has been in my joints. I am not stiff anymore. It is awesome to get up from a chair and walk without stiffness and pain. That's the power of water!
Small steps do lead to bigger steps. Small steps bring us ever closer to our goals. Small steps encourage us and drive us to go after bigger ones. When we are encouraged, we can't help but spread that around to others.
The last 4 years have been the toughest in my entire life. My husband died suddenly, I got fired from my job, my brother-in-law passed away, I had health problems. I didn't care if I lived or died. I tried to fill the empty places in my heart with frozen pizza and candy bars. I drowned my sorrows in diet Mt Dew. I gained 114 pounds. I'm not in that bad place anymore. I have been clawing my way out of a dark pit. I am taking bigger and bigger steps and look forward to see what God has in store for me!
