it is week 2 of my training sessions with BJ at the gym. Scale has not been doing much, in fact in the t weeks I have actually GAINED 1.5 pounds... however when he did measurements last night, I have apparently LOST 1.5 inches.
That right there is motivation enough for me to keep moving forward!
Tonight is my second session this week with him and then I have a minimum of 3 workouts between now and next Tuesday to do on my own. I am really going to have to sit down and figure out when I am fitting those in, as we have a busy weekend already planned. Looks like this girl will be at the gym Friday after work! Better to hit the gym on Friday than a wall on Monday!
Watching my carbs has been quite the challenge as many of my favorite "healthy options" are higher in carbs than I really need at this point in the game. Please note, I am not going NO CARB, just modifying the amount of carbs that I am eating to keep them within a reasonable range. Avoiding breads is not really a problem as I am not a huge bread eater... however pizza and cereals are another story. Also finding that many of my favorite adult beverages are high in carbs... need to work on finding lower carb options. From what I am reading, the Korbel Brandy that I enjoy with my diet coke is a reasonable option, so I am thinking that will be the drink of choice this weekend when we go out with some friends. (within reason of course)
To add to the challenge of working out with BJ, I have also joined the Biggest Loser Challenge at work. There are 35 of us with our eyes on the grand prize ($350). Thursday is my weigh in day so we will see where things go this week. Last week the work scale said I was down 1.5 lbs. (The scale at they gym said I was up 2 lbs). Now this week the scale at the gym said I was down .5 so we will see what the scale at work says on Thursday!
Time to find a good afternoon snack, get ready to finish up my day with a good, tough, rewarding workout!
