A Snail's Pace~

Wednesday, November 14, 2012

What if we had to travel @ the speed of a snail? ..... For sure we wouldn't get very far, very fast! ...... How nice we have choices! My recent blog was re: Behavior of a Cow ...... (and they can teach us something vaulable about life) ......... Well, so can a slug! ....... I know ....... I know ....... You are thinking: "whaaaaaaaat!"
Well ............ often I hear peeps say, "I have lost my mojo" .......... or I am feeling sluggish! .......

Where did that come from? ..... You may have been observing slugs without realizing it .... and subliminally picked up some of their behavior ..... emoticon Yes!! It is scary and may possibly be worse than the proverbial 'couch potato!' ..........

I never have known what their sole purpose in life is ...... I have a clue about my own and people in general ....... But a slug? ........ I can only imagine what it MIGHT be and that is to boost sales in a garden store ....... for the purchase of slug bait ....... or pellets ..... (sorry to those who support snails) ........

Anyway, to sum it up ........... What I have learned is quite simply: IF i move at a snails pace, I will end up looking like one ........ (maybe not slimy) but shapeless and all round & squishy in the middle and I have come too far for this!! ........
NEXT: is the snail has given me a new focus and appreciation for my daily CHOICES and knowing each day I can make choices to keep me from looking like a slug! ........ or even feeling sluggish ............ sooooooo I guess maybe the slug does have a purpose after all ........... he got me to thinking .............. and maybe he was even speaking to me so I could relay it to you ......... my spark buds!! ......
(do wish we had a snail emoticon) but I know you get the drift ....... One of the many things I will give thanks for in this season is: That I have two legs, and a body that can move ......... So glad I'm not earth bound, aren't you?
emoticon Here's to our fitness and learning from small creatures who crawl!! ..............

that analogy is forever stuck in my head now! Thx. When I want to be a couch potato...uh, er...slug...I will remember this.

I was thinking how slugs, or being a sluggard is mentioned in the Bible in several places, esp. in Proverbs. Laziness is often a topic, and the ruin and poverty that comes from it.

Your post reminded me of something I wrote back in 2010 about snails.....

As usual, an eye-opening discussion of how we have to choose how we live. I don't know how you come up with these topics but I love seeing how you tie them back to something very meaningful. Thanks for your insights and for reminding me that I cannot be a slug no matter how good it feels in the short run!

move like a slug = look like a slug. OK - that works in my mind.
