I Love Discovering “New” Clothes!

Wednesday, November 14, 2012

I haven’t done a lot of work clothes shopping, so what I have is either my 22/24 stuff or my 18/20 stuff leftover from last year. A few weeks ago, I promised myself that each paycheck I’d get myself a new pair of slacks or blouse for work so that I won’t have to wear the same 10 things over and over. I’ve yet to do it of course, but I’m working on it! My dear friend who recently lost a lot of weight donated her size 14 stuff (she’s around an 8 or so now) to me a few months ago which gave me a few more things to wear to work.
Cut to Christmas 2011. My mother gave me the cutest dress for me to wear to work! When I tried it on, it was so tight, you could see every single roll I had on my body. Needless to say I was mortified, and put the dress away for months. Cut to November 2012…

It fits like a glove and my mother was THROUGHOULY pleased that she didn’t “waste” her money.
Yay for “new” clothes!

I also couldn’t wear these pearls in college without a necklace extender…

SO thankful!

I love that! I too found 'new' clothes when I lost weight last year and it is just as exciting! I love the dress. Congrats!

    You look GORGEOUS!!!

Shopping in your own closet is awesome and one of my favourite parts of this process so far! Today I'm wearing my FAVOURITE concert tee, which has been hidden away for the past 5 years because it was already tight when I bought it and became totally unwearable but I loved it too much to get rid of it. So glad I didn't!

I have a LBD in my closet that I bought for $10 years and years and YEARS ago - it is a regular XL (probably a 12/14) and I bought it because I thought it was a perfect LBD that would never go out of style and it was so cheap but I've NEVER worn it. It is something I am so looking forward to getting into BEFORE my wedding in June. Your story makes me even MORE excited!

I love buying or getting new clothes! I wish I had the money to buy loads more! It's so nice not to see a 2 on my jean size anymore. Keep it up :)
