finally got a copy of bob harper's latest book, the skinny rules. i had planned on getting this book when it came out but time, money and baby got in the way of that plan. so i have missed any and all reviews that may have come out or been discussed here when it was first released. if you have any opinions of the book please let me know.
i plan on adding one new rule each day until i have all 20 rules going on in my life.
today i am working on rule #1 which is drink a glass of water before each meal. the purpose of this rule is to get you to drink more water and also help fill you up at meal time. part of the rule is to drink a tall glass of water within 15 minutes of waking up in the morning to get your metabolism fired up. did that this morning! i am a shower first thing in the morning person, unless i workout first thing. i'm still working on getting up at 4 to work out. that didn't happen this morning. i do get up every night at 12:45(yes, i realize that's morning, but it makes me feel better to say night) to use the breast pump since my little angel sleeps through the night. i drink a bit of water at that point and now i'm going to refill my cup and leave it in the bathroom so i'll have a glass of water waiting for me. i use one of those plastic insulated cups with the straws so it won't be just sitting there open to all the bathroom germs plus it will stay a bit cooler. there's no excuse to not drink the water. i don't have to remember to go to the fridge for water before the shower. so no excuses!
i think this may be the easiest of the rules. good thing it's the first one! i heard all the rules when the book came out, but don't remember them now. i am trying to not look ahead. tonight i will read up on tomorrow's rule which involves drinking calories.
