I started to think about where my greatest temptations come from right now. I was surprised when I thought of church. I am Presbyterian and we like to feed our members (if you feed them they will come). Cookies after church on Sunday, snacks at Bible study, someone even brought Duncan Donut munchkins to share at Sunday School. Then there is the monthly Friday Feasters (the name says it all). Food and fellowship!

Strategies to deal with this temptation.....
Never go to church hungry!
Always leave 100 calories in my plan for church snack
Check out the menu of the restaurant of the month in advance
ONE snack is enough, NOT one of each!

After all it's the fellowship that feeds the soul, not the food. emoticon

Methodists cook a lot for members and guests too. We have a Wednesday meal. Fortunately, our servers are skimpy with the servings and the desserts are in modest portions too and soon gone so no seconds! When we have a covered dish affair, I always bring deviled eggs and a special cake the ladies look forward to. Luckily, the people in my class try not to indulge too much so doughnut holes and things as a regular thing!
