I was looking forward to achieve my next hiking goal of walking 7 miles through one of our local walking trails but I now have a setback. It seems lately that if I walk upstairs or any type of incline, I have to stop to catch my breathe before I can go on. Went to the doctor's yesterday and was told that I do not have a cold or am congested and they did a breathing test on a Spitometry (sp) where I had to take a deep breathe and then blow as hard as I could into this mouthpiece until the technician told me to stop. Had to repeat it three times. Afterwards, my lungs hurt like someone had kicked me in the chest. Today I have to have a chest xray done and they have referred me to a Pulmonary doctor for exam and also a test for Sleep Apnea. Don't know what is going on but I sure hope they find something. I have never been a smoker but have lived with many who do or did smoke. Hoping for the best and that I can get back into my walking again.
