Chief cook and bottle washer

Tuesday, November 13, 2012

Today I was informed my better half was still not feeling too good and so I was volunteered into making supper. Which wouldn't have been too bad had I know a bit earlier sadly this was compounded by the fact that most of what I could find was either canned ,rotten or MIA. I could not find much in the way of fresh vegetables and I guess we had kind of neglected getting any this weekend. Oh I DID discover a couple of stalks of celery sadly they were only half good - I still insist that our refrigerator freezes our produce as I have seen it myself (of course the guy from SEARS insists the problem is in our heads!!!) Any way I ended up stumbling pathetically along in the kitchen while trying to avoid the voracious "cougars" 2 tomcats and one female who want to be fed their canned food BEFORE THE HUMANS CAN EAT!!!! The final straw was opening up a can of mushrooms only to discover it was mushroom soup - the visual equivalent of eating something and expecting it to taste one way only to discover it was something totally different. Tomorrow I intend to be more intelligent about this!! And yes I did do all the dishes and put them away.

Nothing like trying to make a meal out of nothing. I'm not a celery fan unless it's cooked in soup or stew or filled with peanut butter. Canned soup gags me. I feel for you as I can't imagine what you managed to cook from this but I probably would have just as soon seen what the "cougars" were having. LOL.
