As friends pass

Tuesday, November 13, 2012

Life certainly comes into full view when a friend gets Cancer and you watch the demise ever so slowly. Makes my every day pity me moments take another path. I'm so grateful to be in such good health, have friends and family, and keep an active life. Blessings to all who suffer from this really awful disease. Patients and families alike.

Health is probably one of the things we most take for granted until it goes away. I lost my dear friend and dance partner 2 years ago at age 38 to diabetes. It was not the first time I lost someone close to me, but his passing hit home so much more because we'd known each other since I was 8 years old, we'd had some serious conversations about death given his health situation leading up to this, and I sat by his side for hours while he was in a diabetic coma in the month leading up to his passing.

That is the truth. We are lucky to be healthy. So I ask myself, why can't you get to a healthy weight to you will be real healthy. I make myself mad.
