No more excuses!!

I am notorious for being a real downer in the winter when it comes to fitness and eating clean. Every year I gain everything back that I worked so hard all spring and summer to lose. And some years even a few extra pounds creep in there :( My main gripe is that by the time I get home from work at 4 or 4:30 it is already dark! My body says dark = sleep, not exercise. And, it is so cold and yucky out, so the couch usually wins.
Well, today I bought this AWESOME elliptical off Craigslist so I can get a good workout in without even leaving the house!! I have a treadmill, but it is from the stone age and I don't really like it. So, I am really pumped to have my new elliptical to help me beat battle of the bulge this winter. I am still going to go to the gym, but now I am prepared here too.
Now, I just have to fight all the holiday food temptations emoticon

    I'm glad for you! I can't afford much equipment. I get bored easily, so variety is important. I have a yoga mat, some hand weights, a mini-trampoline (rescued from a snowbank in my daughter's yard), and loud music for dancing and bouncing. And a Total Gym that was a freebie; people always seem to be trying to get rid of exercise equipment, so keep your eyes open. Also, I've managed to accumulate a variety of good exercise videos over the years. And the most FUN thing of all--a weighted hoop! (That was also a freebie.) I love exercising now.

    Good luck to you! I recently switched to day shift and I'm going thru the same problem with it getting dark too early. When on night shift, I had all morning to exercise. No gym within 20 miles, so I have been looking into purchasing some kind of home equipment. I have a weight bench, but that gets pretty boring after about 5 minutes. Let us know how it works for you!
