Although I am not a binge eater, I have long admired author Geneen Roth's take on overeating and addiction. She used to binge. Now, she will have that one perfect piece of chocolate a day, really savouring it and making it last. As she so eloquently puts it, nothing tastes as good as that first bite.
Today I was having a non-fat latte at a very well-known chocolatier shop. I had bought myself a small dark round of chocolate with fruits and nuts on it. I decided maybe I should buy a couple as holiday gifts. So, I took a bite of my chocolate. It was not the fact that I took a bite, it was the sneaky urgency which I did it with. Honestly, I snuck it out of its paper cover like I was some sort of thief, shoved it quickly in my mouth and felt embarrassed when I felt someone's eyes on me doing it! When will I get evolved like Geneen Roth and just have one perfect bite of chocolate and damn the torpedos?. I would like to eat like nobody is watching!
