As a Social Worker, I get to help many people everyday. I have the opportunity to teach parents (I work with their children) how to navigate their community's resources and how to apply for emergency assistance when needed. In the best case scenarios, I have the opportunity to teach clients how to give back to the community. The only down side to my job is not the aspect of the doing paperwork..it's the sitting while doing paperwork. I used to be able to sit for hours upon hours plugging away at reports. Since I've been exercising so much, I can't sit for more than an hour to an hour and a half without needing to get up and move around. The back of my thighs actually twinge with the need to get out of my chair. Despite the fact that I'm stepping away from my work station more often, I'm grateful for this change. It means my body is getting stronger and WANTS to move. I'm looking forward to the end of today, so I can go for a walk.
