Since we were out of town this weekend, we had many restaurant meals and my eating was quite out of control. It was really good and I enjoyed it, but way over my calories.

Last night, I got in a time bind for dinner, and ended up going through the McDonalds drive through. In a bit of a hungry and self sabotaging mood (hey, the weekly weigh in is already shot, right), I ordered a 'value meal', with 2 cheeseburgers, fries, and an unsweetened iced tea.

As I started eating, and getting the hunger under control, I knew that I really didn't want what I had ordered. I ate a few fries, and one of the cheeseburgers. That was more than enough right there. Under more control, I considered that I was driving downtown, and would pass several bus stops and areas where some less fortunates tend to congregate.

It was chilly out. No one was at the bus stops or milling about. But my destination is also not in the best part of town. There is a guard there for the parking lot. Just a guy, probably getting a few bucks on the side for watching the lot. I offered him the other cheeseburger and fries. It actually made his night, he was thrilled and couldn't thank me enough. That was way better than that cheeseburger and fries to me.

Great idea. I always prefer to give food to the homeless instead of money because I don't want to be emoticon paying for their booze or cigarettes.
