I found a quote this morning that helped me with my worrying about someone else's drama and am sharing it here. I know we all get caught up in other's stuff from time to time. This is from Martha Beck:

"When we force ourselves to connect against our heart's desires, we create false, resentful relationships; when we disconnect from the people who deplete us, we set them free to find their tribes while we find ours."

    Yes, I like the idea that "they" can find their own tribe too. And to respond to KansasRose's message...I try to put as much distance as I can between me and annoying family members, even though they are still part of my life, without causing undue trouble... I don't know. That's a tough one.

    emoticon Quote! This is an issue I need to constantly be aware. I don't often realize how much I involve myself in others issues until I note an extremely toxic effect on myself. Many times others note the stress caused by certain individuals before I do. I suppose I just don't want to believe the obvious.
This is changing, and I have let go of many relationships recently. It saddens me, but
it is not worth the drama. Thank you so very much for sharing this important reminder. emoticon I am glad you found something to help you step back. I hope the issues resolve soon. You are very wise to let go-there are enough challenges we face as it is. We don't need others'.
