Love living in sunshine

Tuesday, November 13, 2012

I must say as I sit here looking out at the blue sky, sun, mountains and lake, I feel very fortunate to live where it is warm all year long. Every once in a while my DH and I think we want a new adventure but we really can't think of anywhere else to live where the cost of living as well as the weather would be so good. It would be so hard to go back to where you would have to have either a heating bill or air conditioning. So here we will stay for a while. Yet I must admit I love new experiences. And loved when we first moved here and the excitement of living in a new culture. Soon though you will here me complain again as our little village's main 2 week festival is about to begin. They will be celebrating their patron saint, Saint Andres. Many of the streets will be blocked off in the village and amusement rides for the kiddies set up and many stands selling anything from special drinks to pots and pans. But once again we will awake around 5 am with the cohetes(fireworks) to wake the folks for early mass. The priest here is know for many, many cojetes. So once again I will go to bed extra early to get my sleep in prior to the early morning noise.
I do hope all my sparks buddies are doing just great.
I was happy to get back on plan yesterday after Sunday's splurge. The scales rewarded me with 1/2 of the 1 pound of water weight gone this morning.
Have a terrific day!

Mexicans seem to celebrate a lot , they always have a lot of bright colors, our seem so drab compared to theirs when celebrating.Have a great tomorrow!!

When we have cold weather which is not a whole lot here in NE Florida, but I think of your village. We do have a large AC bill for most of the year just to stay cool. Enjoy your wonderful climate and the different culture of the people

We feel the same way here, living by the Gulf Beaches. We both love the Mexican holidays. It's just a skip over the Gulf so we might consider a MexiVacay in 2013. Thanks for sharing, Sallie, as I love to hear about the local scene there!

Sallie I came to the Tampa Bay area in Florida in 1960 and have always maintained a place here. I do not handle the cold and cloudy days either. Thanks so much for the information.

You are very lucky to found a nice place in Mexico you live and are so comfortable in. And living right next to Chapala is so cool. It really is the perfect place weather wise because it is so stable with not many unexpected changes through the year. It you go a little more in land you get some more cold days as well as a little more toward the coast as there is many mountains. Then if you go all the way to the coast you have to worry about the storms. Where you are you can easily drive to the city and go to big chain stores or nice malls if you like or just as easily drive to a nice beach :-)! I would call that perfect too! Enjoy your day Sallie.

We have a week of cloudy weather and it's amazing how I miss my sunshine!
LOL I'm "complaining" having to wear capris instead of shorts and having to find socks and a cardigan late afternoon... It's freezing back in Colorado - we are so fortunate to be able to live in Mexico! I thrive in 80F+ weather and feel cold when we get to 70 or below now... my blood must be thin

emoticon I also live in a sunny all year climate (although we get cold, it is nothing like I used to experience in the midwest).

Life is good. Love your blog post! Have a great day!

You're quite early today. Sounds like a fun festival but I bet the noise does get old.

That would get tiresome, methinks.
We feel the sme way about our little bit of paradise- we love it ! but it's been 10 years now and we are ready for a change so we have put it on the market.

Where you live sounds like paradise : )
Here in the Midwest, its cold already and even though I am happy to have the sun out, its too cold to go walking! Bbbrrrrrrrr!!
I admire the fact that you went to another country and are living a good life, to me, you are an inspiration because I wish to do the same one day : )
Enjoy! & TY for sharing...
