I sometimes wonder if I am getting fitter by working out at the gym. I'm all about instant gratification and as anyone that works out knows, you don't always get that.
Imagine my surprise tonight when I realized that I had not only walked on the treadmill for 60 minutes, I had used a speed that I originally thought to be "insanely fast." My cooldown speed is now faster than my original starting speed was. My mind was blown.
I also thought it was pretty amazing tonight, I hit a point in my workout where I thought "I've GOT this!" Things didn't hurt quite so much, I was in a great groove, I had an awesome sweat going. My time was almost up (30 minutes) so I clicked the button and added 10 more, then another 10, then another 10. 60 minutes later, I was still at it but my workout partner was ready to leave (we rode together). Realizing I can not only do this, but do it well was a pretty big "WOW" moment for me.
