Tonight I spent some time filling out the paper copy of my week 1 fast break log. The item I got stuck on was number 3 -- reaffirming your focus. How will you reaffirm your focus this week? Write it below.
It's funny. All of my life I have been highly goal oriented with school, life, etc. Then somewhere along the lines, that goal-setting skill must have fallen into disuse, because now it's often tough for me to figure out the 'why' behind why I want to do something.
So I re-read through some of my old blogs, specifically the one dealing with chapter 2 of the Spark. After reading that and thinking, I decided that the reasons behind what my ultimate weight loss and life goals are, is that I want to live an active, social and well-balanced life. Ultimately to be happy. Not that I am unhappy or anything, but really -- this is the only life you get, might as well make it the best that you can and for me, that involves 1) being fit and healthy, 2) being socially active and having a good circle of friends, and 3) living a well-balanced life with work and play.
I think if I keep my eye on this mantra, that it will help me to stay focused on my goals of weight loss and meeting new friends/improving my social life in my new city.
So among other things, in order to set up shop I've identified three things I would like to do which will make it easier for me to achieve my goals.
1) Make a 100-200 calorie snack list
2) Make a list of some routine dinner meals I can make
3) Do some recipe makeovers of some of my favorite meals
