I just posted on NillaPepsi's blog the other day about how one of my current NSV's is liking the way my shadow looks. I go on a lot of afternoon walks and lately I have been noticing that my shadow looks a lot better than it used to. I have a much more defined waist than I did a year ago. Progress!
My new affinity for my shadow has motivated me to make some new goals for November. Yes, I realize the month is half over, but I'm not a linear thinker, so that doesn't bother me.
1. ST at least 2 days a week. I have been very neglectful of ST. I don't know why, because I kind of like doing it. I think it is just one of those things I stopped doing, for one reason or another, and I just haven't thought much about it. I have some good ST videos (including some Pilates workouts that I really like) and I also like the Coach Nicole online videos. So I really have no excuses to not meet this goal by the end of the month.
2. Drink at least 10 cups of water a day. Now that we are heating our house, I feel as dry as the desert. I am also waking up at night feeling parched, which clearly says to me that I am not drinking enough.
3. Continue to walk with the dog at least 5 times a week. I have been doing well with this. I can keep doing it. Now that I have new sneakers, I am hoping that my foot pain improves.
4. Do not let the foot pain issue become an excuse to not exercise. Just because I may not be able to tolerate a walking video or other cardio that involves pressure on the ball of the foot doesn't mean that I can't do some other form of exercise.
I think that the issue with my foot, coupled with stress from work, has been the biggest reason for the fitness slump that I have been in this fall. I'm getting tired of the slump, so I'm kicking myself back in gear. I have lost 10 pounds, dropped one pants size, and have a nice-looking shadow. Time to keep moving forward!
