5K is looming, and I'm not ready!!

Monday, November 12, 2012

This past week I had a bad respiratory infection. It knocked me out. So I haven't been able to jog for a little over a week. Today is going to be my first day back to exercising. And here is the kicker...my FIRST 5K is on Friday!! I am already figuring half the battle for me will be just showing up. So, I will do that, and run/walk it. I really hope to not be the very last person to cross the finish line. I envision them cleaning up the event, and putting things away...and then here I come crawling across the finish line! I guess we will see. I am going no matter what. I am scared, but I think I will survive with plenty of prayer and optimistic thoughts.

You've got a great attitude and I'm confident you will finish the race with flying colors. Good luck and have fun.

That's right...that's the attitude...you show up for it no matter what. Run, walk, or crawl you WILL finish (although I truly doubt you will have to crawl).

You're going to be awesome!! Vixenlicious is right--a lot of people end up walking the whole way through 5Ks so you won't be last and you definitely will be long done before they start cleaning up! Show up and do the best you can--you won't be sorry!

I did a run/walk for my first 5k too. Trust me, no matter what place you come in you are going to be just thrilled and so proud of yourself. At the race I was at, many people walked the whole thing! Don't sweat it worrying....sweat it out on the course. :)
