Monday's Words to Ponder

Monday, November 12, 2012

Even though we're a week and a half away from Thanksgiving, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
Richard Roeper

I was shopping the beginning of October and I saw stores decorated for Christmas. It's a shame the stores can't celebrate these other holidays in the fall! Those decorations don't encourage me to spend!

When I went to the warehouse club this weekend, they were handing out 'Black Friday' coupons. Needless to say, I passed.

It doesn't help in my case either. I am not ready for Christmas until all the other holidays are past. We walked into the Tractor Supply Co. a couple days ago and they had Christmas music playing already!! Give the season a break. By the time the holiday actually gets here, one doesn't want to hear it any more!! My spending habits won't change!!

Christmas makes or breaks a store. They start earlier and earlier to get more profit.

I hate that they start it so early...and make it so much about commercialism!

I feel it's too early in October too. The first of December is a better time.

Stores are only interested in getting you in the mood for the big spending holidays. It won't be long and they nwill be setting up for Christmas in July.
