Best Freggies Forever!

So I've switched one of my daily goals to freggies consumption. I had this down pat for a while, but since my reset and slightly lower calories I've been letting some stuff go. I want to do a week of 5, then six and so forth until I'm getting 8.

So week one. One thing I used to do was have a freggies with every meal and snack, and especially with Halloween that was not happening. So for breakfast I usually have dried strawberries on cereal.

Peaches are lower calorie than apples, even light canned ones.

I need to keep small apples on hand. We've had these crops of giant Fujis, but they have more calories than what I usually think with apples.

Veggies are the challenge. I need to get used to the idea of salad.

    I also am challenged when it comes to eating more veggies. I like the way you are slowly increasing the number goal each week, sneaking up on it, building on choices from the weeks before.

If you need a resource, check out the free Full Plate Diet e-book for inspiration and recipes. They also have inspiration for other high fiber foods like grain, nuts, and legumes, but you can skip them. I love the pictures in the book!!

Also the Eat to Live book has great ideas for eating vegan. I don't think you're trying to do that, but the recipes for all the vegetables actually have me eating more of them. emoticon

    That's fantastic!! I love Freggies, a new term that I use in RL now with the family lol. My fave is a cucumber sandwich in the summer and quinoa with chopped veggies in the fall/winter. Way to go!!

    You can do it. Try celery with peanut butter or low fat cream cheese! Makes a good snack.

    That's a great goal. Sometimes I have no problems getting all my freggies in, and other days it seems near impossible. Unless I'm making an omelet, I have a tough time getting a vegetable in at breakfast -- so usually it's a fruit added to cereal etc. In the summer I love salads, but for the winter I tend towards having roasted vegetables which are equally as easy.
