I need to get back on track :(

Good Morning Everyone!!

I feel like I was doing so great over the summer.. I was feeling great, motivated to exercise and eat right, and keep moving..
& I have fallen off track since the weather keeps changing and all i want to do is sleep and I have been getting so stressed with the amount of school work I have to do.. I havent gained any weight.. which is good, but I haven't lost any... and now that my thyroid level is in check, it should be a lot easier for me to lose weight... I could really use some motivation right about now :(

    Hey there :) I ran into the same problem- was convinced that my thyroid needed adjusting, but the results came back normal, which told me that my problems were within my control. You're right about stress- it triggers all sorts of hormone changes that cause you to retain weight: think about cavemen who were stressed from running from predators and suffering harsh winters- survival mode kicks in during times of stress to conserve energy- makes you feel sluggish and makes it harder to lose weight.
    If there is any way for you to de-stress, that will help. Also, even when the work load gets heavy, try to get at least 7 hours of sleep, less will cause those stress hormones to elevate (because your body thinks it is running from dinosaurs and thus don't have time to sleep :) ).
    In any case, the holidays present their own challenges to getting back on track- kinda cringing inside that I chose this time of year to try as well.
