Gained 700 grams - Confused

Monday, November 12, 2012

Good morning

So despite my resolutions last week, it seemed nothing worked.

* I added some meal replacements (of different brands) to try and control my calorie intake.
* I worked out more.
* Logged more
* Increased my calorie intake on some days

Notes:
* I seemed a little obsessive
* Constipated
* Sometimes tired as if I did not eat enough

Result = weigh in = + 700 grams

CONFUSED

Dietitian says : "I should not exercise too much "

Even more confused.

Now :
* I enjoy exercising, I feel amazing
* I love what my body can do
* My fat % went down and muscle mass up

This week :

* NO more meal replacements !!! I like simple food : salads and oats for breakfast
* Portion control ( very challenging)
* Spaced out exercise : Sunday and monday - tuesday Rest - Wednesday- Thrusday (rest) - Friday (run) etc..

Guys I am so confused. I am just noting these down BUT I really do not know what happened last week.

I hope you have a better monday than me.

xoxo

    Patience is the key here. Your body is adapting to the changes! emoticon

    Dear all

Again thank you so much for taking the time to comment on my post.
I went for my first morning run before work this morning. I only lasted 20 mins but I am so pumped for the day. I will give my body a bit of time to adjust for sure. Thanks for that suggestion. Hopefully in time things will get better. Also I try to repeat in my head that the scale is just a number. It is important to me in the long run but for now I am a work in progress.

This morning I asked myself: why did I ever stop exercising ? It is such a great way to connect body, mind and just boost some positiveness.

Have a great day everyone.
A billion thanks
xoxo

    If my math is correct, 700 grams is about 1.5 pounds...the body is a machine with a lot of working parts that takes a lot into account to do what it does. More likely than not, you're not doing anything that needs correcting, as @X5X52000 stated, you need to give your body time to adjust to changes. Take note that there is such a thing as too much exercising, but I'd give it more time before deciding to make another change. Hang in there! emoticon

    You have to give a new routine some time to get your body to adjust. emoticon emoticon

    Take it one day at a time - sometimes you will "gain" a bit...but once your body gets used to the new routine, you will see losses more. Don't give up on the exercises, especially since you are enjoying them. Remember, it's only a number on that scale...the important thing is how you are feeling! Pay attention to your body!!
