Veterans Day

Monday, November 12, 2012

The background picture is a 2012 picture of my eldest son. He is currently serving at Fort Lewis, Washington. He is a medic in the army. He has served in Iraq and Afganistan. I don't think most people realize what are troops go through over there. They may come back with their physical body in tact but they had to see a lot of stuff. I am proud of my son, but I do wish he had been spared this experience. He hasn't really talked much about it, but he lost many people close to him over there.

I grew up in a military family. My father was a Commander in the Navy. He was commanding officer of LST824 US Henry County. He served in the Viet Nam War. I understand what the families at home go through. I thank the families as well as the service personnel.

Thank your son for me. And let us pray that we can create a world without war someday.
