Why do I always feel "Meh"?

Sunday, November 11, 2012

So, I'm just feeling meh. I had the plans to get off my butt and clean so I have space to do stuff....3rd day of my 4 day weekend? I've reorganized my computer, that's about it. I just don't have the motivation anymore.

I haven't been exercising.

I haven't eaten really good lately.

About the only thing I have been good on is the fact I haven't had a soda in over 3 months. Not that my weight reflects that. I'm apparently compensating somewhere.

Meh.

Congrats on being soda free for 3 months! That's fantastic! As for the other motivation, could that be to the lack of caffeine/nervous energy that you were used to? Or perhaps the season change? I often feel less motivated during the fall/winter than the spring/summer.

Hope you find it again!

I agree with Batchick-start small, so you don't get overwhelmed. Maybe 5 to 10 minutes of exercise each day, 5 days a week. Track that, make it a habit, then build from there. One thing I do is write my exercise for the week on a calendar ahead of time, so I have that sense of accomplishment when I do it and cross it off. Once it's written down (in permanent ink, no less!), I feel compelled to do it, and less likely to skip it. Maybe it could work for you.

motivation lies in momentum. start with something ~really really~ small, something that will take 5 min. tops. Then when you've accomplished one thing on your to-do list you'll feel more motivated to check more things off.
