Hey y'all! I'm out and about and trying to do more Sparking on the Go. I've been tracking and walking every day. I managed to squeeze in a mini workout when we were at the hotel. Shot a video of it with my phone and thought I'd share, just because.
Remember I was going to what would have been my mom's 50th college reunion? That's where I am now. Here's a pic of my dad, picking me up at the airport. He has my name on his iPad. He cracks me up.
How cool is he?
My mom's reunion was so great. I got to meet the group of friends she used to get into tons of trouble with. My favorite part was that they're all exactly the same! Still full of energy and definitely troublemakers, just 50 years later.
Class of 1962, Mom was missed.
I went to the same college as my parents, so homecoming for one, is homecoming for all. Me and Dad on the college oval.
Sadly, neither one of us was mistaken for a student...
Then, get this--one of my SparkBuddies happens to work in the same town as my alma mater! So, I got to squeeze in a SparkMeetUp. We tooled around in her cute lil red car and visited like we already knew each other. You just gotta love that! Makes me want to hop on a plane and go meet other SparkPeeps.
MOSTMOM1 and ELLFIN3- Hi Susan!! :)
One of the things I did, while at my dad's house, was scan a bunch of slides we found, circa 1970something. I had to share this pic from our pre-Bicentennial trip to Philadelphia in 1975. Dad wanted to avoid the crowds. LOL
Me and my brother, eating giant pretzels. Oh, little girl, this is SO an indicator of your future CarbQueen status... heh heh
I remember being beyond impressed with the sidewalk pretzel vendor. We did NOT have such people in the Ft. Worth suburbs. I thought he must have the best job in the entire world, so I had my mom take a pic of us.
My Hero of 1975
And look, I found this--further proof that I have, indeed, always been this way.
That girl's never been quite right in the head...
My college buddies weren't able to make it to the reunion after all. We're definitely all going to our 25th in a couple of years. But three of them were able to come over to the house, so we were still able to record a most stunning rendition of "Beans and Cornbread." Our musical genius is a wonder to behold. I'll have to post the video when I get home.
Beans and Cornbread warmup
This has been a whirlwind trip. I'm so glad I had Spark to keep me on track and in line (health-wise, anyway). Spark on, brave Sparkers!
