FOOD FOR THOUGHT. #8

What is the difference between a goal and a purpose? A goal is something you accomplish. It has a beginning and an end - while a purpose is ongoing and gives meaning to our lives.

People go on chasing goals to prove something that doesn't have to be proved: that they're already worthwhile. Goals are very important in helping us get what we want. But, too often we run around using them to get what we already have - our worth.

Worrisome images we create and play in our minds are just as powerful as positive ones. The exciting reality is we can create and play the mental movies of OUR CHOICE. That's power!

We become what we think about.

Enthusiasm, perseverance, determination, etc. Where do those things come from? Inside you - that's the reason for self management. It's not just to help you use your time well - its to bring out the best in yourself!

The self management system is based on this: Goals begin behaviors. Consequences maintain behaviors.
